Aside from its original scope aimed at promoting the application of innovative technologies to discovery of interventions: diagnostics, drugs, vaccines and insecticides for the tropical diseases in the TDR portfolio, the new SSI-TDR strategy has been expanded to cover activities for the greater benefit to the research areas from innovation to the full spectrum of research for health in disease endemic countries. The SSI-TDR website will be further developed not only to facilitate information sharing and dissemination but also to have additional functionality to better serve the community and to enhance the visibility and relevance of the initiative.
